October 28–29, 2026 | Fort Lauderdale, Florida
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) is just around the corner, bringing together yacht owners, captains, crew, and marine industry professionals from around the world.
Among this year’s highlights is the RefitX 2026 Seminar Series, a two-day program dedicated to exploring the future of yacht refit and repair, from project planning and emerging technologies to the growing opportunities within the American superyacht market.
Taking place October 28–29 at the Yacht Builder’s Tent at Bahia Mar Yachting Center, the seminars offer an opportunity to hear directly from industry leaders and connect with professionals shaping the next chapter of yacht refit.
As superyachts become increasingly sophisticated and owner expectations continue to evolve, successful refit projects require more than technical expertise. They depend on careful planning, clear communication, collaboration, and an understanding of the operational demands involved.
The RefitX 2026 Seminar Series will bring these conversations to the forefront, offering practical insights from designers, shipyards, project managers, and other marine industry specialists.
This year’s program also serves as a preview of the full RefitX experience scheduled to launch in 2027.
Wednesday, October 28 | The Perfect Refit
3:00 PM | On Time, On Budget, No Surprises
The opening discussion will explore what it takes to execute a successful yacht refit, with a focus on planning, budgeting, managing timelines, and navigating the challenges that can arise throughout a project.
From defining the scope of work to coordinating stakeholders and managing unexpected changes, the conversation will offer valuable perspectives for anyone involved in overseeing or supporting a refit.
Thursday, October 29 | The Future of Yacht Refit in America
Thursday’s program will feature two discussions examining the opportunities and challenges facing the American yacht refit industry.
11:00 AM | The Refit Boom: Can South Florida Keep Up?
As demand for yacht refit services continues to grow, industry experts will discuss South Florida’s position as a leading refit destination, including shipyard capacity, infrastructure, skilled labor, and opportunities for future expansion.
2:00 PM | The American Refit Advantage
The afternoon discussion will turn toward America’s ability to compete on the global stage, exploring how its design talent, shipyards, engineers, and specialized marine trades can work together to attract and execute more major superyacht refit projects domestically.
For yacht owners, captains, and crew, refit projects represent far more than physical improvements to a vessel.
They often involve complex scheduling, operational adjustments, crew coordination, and important decisions that affect the yacht long after the work is completed.
At PYC Cayman, we understand the importance of having the right people, processes, and administrative support in place to help keep yacht operations running smoothly.
As the industry evolves, opportunities to exchange knowledge, strengthen professional relationships, and stay informed about emerging developments remain invaluable.
Our Director, Graeme Lord, will be attending the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, and we’re looking forward to reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new ones throughout the week.
If you see Graeme or our team around the show, be sure to say hello!
Whether you’re a captain, yacht owner, or industry professional interested in learning more about our crew administration services, we’d be happy to connect.
Planning to attend FLIBS? Get in touch with the PYC Cayman team to arrange a time to meet with Graeme during the show.
